How Ultra Processed Foods Cause Chronic Inflammation
What we want to talk about is ultra processed food, because that is the pinnacle of what's really killing us. Ultra processed foods, you can easily spot them because they don't resemble food at all. They don't resemble anything that you recognize found in nature. So, for example, cereal and chips. Those are two great examples of ultra processed foods. Or how about candy? There's a lot of different ultra processed foods, the list goes on. But essentially, your body doesn't know what they are. So not only when you look at them, you don't know that they once came from nature, but when you're metabolizing them, your body really doesn't know what a lot of these things are. So for example, the dyes that are in the foods, the preservatives that are in the foods, the heightened, heightened, hyper palatable sugars that are manmade, your body really doesn't know what these things are. And it stresses your body. So basically, when when you ingest something that your body doesn't recognize to be real food found in nature, it basically makes your body put out a low grade stress response. So your immune system has to actually engage and act on that because your body is viewing this food as a foreign substance. And that's when you get that immune response. So we talk about people being chronically inflamed, and this is one of the reasons. It's just for the mere fact that these foods are not recognized to be actual food by your body, okay? So your body doesn't know what they are. You get this low-level stress response. It's inflaming you and guys, just stay away from ultra processed foods. So that's all I can say for that number one is to stay away from ultra processed foods.
